The Scrunchie Obsession...

A red scrunchie, and a cream and red scrunchie are on the wrist of Lisa Sparkes of Fire Sparks Creations

For the past couple weeks I've been stuck in a holding pattern while I wait for an order of cork leather to arrive from my supplier in Portugal. All of the fabric is cut and prepped, zippers are ready to go, all that's left to do is wait...

...which kind of sucks. My creative brain gets antsy when I can't create.

Which brings us to scrunchies. These were a wardrobe stable when I was in high school. I loved to go shopping for new ones - so many different designs & styles to choose from! Which is why the return of the scrunchie is so awesome - I've got a ton of fabric remnants from past bags and impulse buys that I was never quite sure what to do with. So, this past week I've been cutting fabric and sewing up scrunchies with abandon.

And it's so addictive! Once the scrunchie is sewn up, all the finishing is done by hand which means I'm not stuck in the studio all day (a definite bonus during these last few days of summer vacation).

Scrunchies are available now in the shop, and more will be coming soon. They will also be available at our upcoming Fall Harvest Market in Williamstown, Ontario on Sunday September 15 (Please see Events for all the details).
